Venues on Adventure Foundry: Where to Play and How Booking Works

Adventure Foundry connects three groups: the venues that host tabletop games, the Game Masters who run them, and the players looking for a seat. This guide covers the first group — what a venue on the platform actually is, what its page can do for you, and how to go from browsing to sitting at a table.

What counts as a venue?

A venue on Adventure Foundry is any physical space that hosts tabletop play. In practice that spans six types: dedicated gaming taverns, game cafés, comic & game stores, libraries and community centres, event organizers, and educational institutions. Some are businesses whose whole model is hosting games; others are shops or community spaces that run game nights alongside everything else they do.

What a venue page gives you

Every venue gets its own public page on Adventure Foundry, and the useful parts for a player are:

• Tables you can book. Venues list their physical tables with availability, so you can reserve space for your group instead of hoping a table is open when you arrive.
• Ticketed events. One-shots, learn-to-play nights, and special sessions, each with the price, game system, schedule, and open seats shown before you commit.
• Campaigns. Ongoing games run at the venue that you can follow or join, rather than one-off sessions.
• A Storytellers roster. The Game Masters who run games at that venue, each with a Wanted Poster showing their Bounty Marks — a proof-of-activity record of sessions run, not a score or a star rating.
• Membership and community. Joining a venue keeps you in the loop on its announcements and members-only games.
• Venue tokens. Some venues run their own token currency — earn tokens by playing there, then spend them on things like table time. Each venue names and prices its own.

How to find a venue near you

Two front doors, depending on how you like to browse:

• The venue directory lists venues by region and city — start here if your question is “what's near me?” Each region page groups venues by city and links straight to their pages.
• Discover is the full search experience: browse venues on a map, filter events by game system and experience level, find Game Masters near your city, and see which tables have open seats looking for players.

How booking works

Every listing shows its price up front, in CAD. From there it is a short path:

• Free events: register with one click and you get an email confirmation. Done.
• Paid events: pick your seat, check out through Stripe with any regular payment card, and your booking is confirmed on the spot. You never pay a Game Master in cash or e-transfer through the platform — payment, receipts, and refunds all run through the same checkout.
• When you arrive: check in at the table. For paid independent-GM sessions, attendance is confirmed by both you and the Game Master — that confirmation is what releases the GM's payment, which keeps everyone honest.

If a Game Master cancels a paid event, every booked player is refunded in full — platform fee included. Payments are currently available in Canada, with international support planned.
