Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website. They help websites remember your preferences and keep you signed in. We also use browser localStorage and sessionStorage, which serve similar purposes but remain on your device and are never sent to our servers automatically.
Adventure Foundry only sets essential (strictly necessary) cookies that are required for the site to function. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies. Our page-view and speed measurements don't use cookies at all (see section 3).
| Name | Type | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
| next-auth.session-token | Cookie | Keeps you signed in to your account (JWT session) | Session / 30 days |
| next-auth.csrf-token | Cookie | Protects against cross-site request forgery attacks | Session |
| next-auth.callback-url | Cookie | Remembers where to redirect you after sign-in | Session |
| af-cookie-consent | localStorage | Stores your cookie consent preference | Persistent |
| feed cache | sessionStorage | Caches your activity feed for faster loading (5-minute TTL) | Tab session |
| DM profile cache | localStorage | Caches DM profile and avatar data locally | Persistent |
We use Vercel Web Analytics to count page views and Vercel Speed Insights to measure how fast pages load. Neither sets cookies, and neither tracks you across other websites. For each page view they record the page address, referring site, approximate location, device type, operating system, browser, and page-speed timings. Vercel tells visitors apart with a hash of the request that is discarded after 24 hours, and the data is only used for totals.
Before a measurement is sent, we remove usernames, invite links and query strings from the page address. If you choose Decline Non-Essential on the cookie banner, your browser stops sending these measurements.
Certain third-party services may set their own cookies during specific interactions. We do not control these cookies.
Choosing Decline Non-Essential on our banner stops the cookieless page-view and speed measurements described in section 3. It doesn't affect how the site works. To change your choice later, clear this site's data in your browser and the banner will appear again. If we add optional cookies in the future, your stored preference will be respected.
You can also manage cookies through your browser settings. Most browsers allow you to view, delete, and block cookies. Please note that blocking essential cookies will prevent you from signing in.
We may update this Cookie Policy to reflect changes in our practices or for operational, legal, or regulatory reasons. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date above and, where required, notify you via the cookie consent banner.
